Carsten Fink is an Economist in the Development Research Group of the World Bank. He holds a Bachelor Degree in economics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and a Master of Science degree in economics from the University of Oregon, United States. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in economics at the University of Heidelberg. Previously, Mr Fink held positions at the World Bank in the Telecommunications and Informatics Division and has been a consultant for TechNet, a World Bank program on Science and Technology for Development.
Mr Fink's research interests include international trade policy (especially intellectual property rights protection and trade in services), international finance, transnational corporations, and the telecommunciations and informatics industries. He has published many papers on the economic implications of protecting intellectual property rights as well as on the institutional aspects of intellectual property rights reforms in developing countries.
