James A. Dorn is Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Cato Institute, Editor of the Cato Journal, and Director of Cato's Project on Civil Society. He also directs Cato's annual monetary conference. Dorn is coeditor of The Search for Stable Money, Economic Liberties and the Judiciary, Dollars, Deficits, and Trade, and Economic Reform in China. He has taught at the Central European University in Prague and Fudan University in Shanghai, and is a Professor of Economics at Towson State University and a Research Fellow of the Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University. His articles have appeared in the Financial Times, the Washington Times, the Boston Herald, and the Dallas Morning News. He holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Virginia. From 1984-90, he served on the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.
