President Klaus came to Canada at the invitation of The Fraser Institute to accept the TP Boyle Founder's Award for his lifelong commitment to promoting democracy and freedom around the world.
President Klaus gave this speech in Calgary on November 9, 2004, in Vancouver on November 10, 2004, and in Toronto on November 12, 2004 to mark the fifteenth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. An earlier version of this talk was delivered at Brunel University in London, England, on October 20, 2004.
