An estimated 1.2 million people aged 18 to 24, living with their parents in households with income of at least $100,000, received the GST credit in 2021.
Under the CCB, the share of total child benefit spending for families with incomes under $60,000 declined from 42.9 per cent to 29.7 per cent.
The program will cost a projected $27.2 billion this year.
The plan calls for $27.2 billion over the next five years to reduce daycare costs.
This year's federal budget deficit will reach an estimated $381.6 billion.
The program provides benefits to roughly 90 per cent of Canadian families.
